WAIVER OF LIABILITY

MITArchA (the MIT Architecture Alumni Affinity Group) assumes no responsibility to any attendee for injury or damage that arises during, or as a result of, attendance at any event, even when it is sponsored by MITArchA. In the unfortunate event of injury or damage, the attendee is responsible for contacting, and should look solely to, the venue site and its caterers and servers, if any, for any suffered loss. By attendance at an event, the attendee will be deemed to have released MITArchA (and its officers and volunteers), and MIT and its affiliated organizations from any and all liability, however caused, that arises during or as a result of the event.

Social Events & Policies Regarding Alcohol

On occasion, and as it sees fit, MITArchA will hold speaker or social events at which alcohol (which may include a tasting event) may be served. On such occasions, MITArchA will endeavor to determine that the premises are licensed to serve alcohol or that a special events liquor license has been obtained. However, neither MITArchA nor MIT or its affiliated organizations will be deemed to have assumed any responsibility for any liability to an attendee by attendance at such an event.

Photography and Video at MITArchA Events

Photographs, video, or online recordings may be taken at any MITArchA event on behalf of MIT, MITArchA, and any co-sponsoring organizations. By attending the event, you will be deemed to have knowingly consented to use by MIT, MITArchA, and any co-sponsoring organizations of your likeness in any publicity or other reproduction made by or on behalf of MIT, MITArchA, or any co-sponsoring organizations, and knowingly released MIT, any MIT affiliated co-sponsoring organization and MITArchA from any liability to you resulting therefrom.
