Peabody Fine Architects is looking for architectural professionals with a commitment to excellence in design and energy performance. We are a collaborative firm focused exclusively on zero-energy and zero-energy-ready buildings using Passive House principles. Our projects are forward looking to the next generation of energy production for a distributed grid. Our work is primarily in single family and multi-family housing. We will offer you as much responsibility as you can take on and pay commensurately.

 Job Position

We are a small firm where staff work on several projects, in various phases of development, at any given time. As an architectural designer, you will have responsibility for projects from concept design through construction administration, including participation in client meetings and site visits. You will be responsible for aspects of projects and be expected to manage the scope and timeline independently, anticipating next steps. You will contribute to the energy modelling and analysis of your projects. In addition to managing design projects, you may also lead presentations for marketing and community outreach. This position offers the opportunity for growth in skills necessary to deliver excellent design at the highest levels of energy performance.

Package includes medical insurance contribution and a personal/holiday-leave plan. Telecommuting options are available, but in-office work is preferred, adhering to Covid protocols.

 Qualifications

  • A professional degree in Architecture, or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years architectural office experience, preferably in residential design

  • Construction document experience in light-weight building systems and wood detailing

  • Knowledge of building and energy codes and consultant coordination experience

  • Construction administration experience

  • Proven commitment to high performance building design

  • Professional Revit experience, particularly in Construction Document production

  • Presentation skills in Photoshop, SketchUp and other 3-D modeling software

  • WUFI or other building energy simulation software experience is a bonus
